The catalasic activity in cells of the chorioallantois membrane of embryonated eggs is reduced by incubation with influenza virus. The decrease in activity occurs after a latent period corresponding to that of the first appearance of hemagglutinating particles and continues parallel to the rise in H.A. Titer.
