The main cause of the transformers failure when thermal overload, is the inter-turn short circuit inside of the winding. Therefore, the additional cooling system for the oil-immersed transformers developed, which are able to reduce the peak load and its uniform distribution throughout the operation time, due to the accumulation of cold hours corresponding to the minimum thermal load.
