A note on the alpha-decay half-lives of heavy and superheavy elements

A bstract. The known alpha-decay half-lives of transuranium elements can be reproduced using an interaction potential having a repulsive core. Results are insensitive to the magnitude of the core height but the derived nuclear half-density radius VIA1'* F. is consistent with those obtained from the analysis of mu-mesic and electron scattering experiments.
