The NEWA Forested Hill Experiment Kassel was a field campaign conducted within the EU project – New European Wind Atlas NEWA. The experiment provides a unique dataset of wind measurements for validating models for flow over forested hilly terrain. It was performed around the »Rödeser Berg«, a hill located 20 km northwest of Fraunhofer IEE Kassel, Germany. The experiment consisted of a 3 month intensive campaign and a 1 year long-term campaign (November 2016 to October 2017). In total 17 wind

By the end of the NEWA project all experimental data will be freely available. The measurement data will be provided in NetCDF format. This technical report provides a detailed documentation of the field campaign.
