Cognitive dysfunction in postmenopausal women reduces their quality of life, social and family adaptation and can lead to complications such as dementia including Alzheimer's disease. Results of the studies on the potential of hormone replacement therapy in prevention of this group of disorders are controversial and require further investigation.
