Filipinos believe in marriage as a sacred union of two people brought together by fate and molded by time. This research is a qualitative study that utilized the content analysis approach. The short story was analyzed through various lenses of literary theories -humanism, romanticism, and existentialism. The study strives to analyze the concept of marital decision, marital romance, attributes of man and woman as husband and wife, and how couples address the marital dilemma that they experience. Based on the results of the study, it showed that the story reflects the common marital problems in the context of Filipino families.
