Keratinase can specifically attack disulfide bridges in keratin to convert them from complex to simplified forms. Keratinase thermal stability has drawn attention to various biotechnological industries. In this study, a keratinase DgeKer was identified from a slightly thermophilic species, D. geothermalis.
