t the transition between two millennia a new era is born -the information age. Information technology is our means of reinforcing human knowledge and communications. It opens up a new revolutionary world to mankind. The envisioned revolution in the field is slowly progressing, and thus not always easily distinguished. Information age and information technology create dependencies, capabilities, and vulnerabilities that have to be understood and managed.
