The main objective of the study was to determine the oral and silent reading ability level in English of Grade seven students enrolled during the school year 2019-2020 in Calamba Bayside Integrated School, Calamba City, Laguna. Findings revealed that in Oral Reading, majority of the participants were classified under the Frustration level in fluency, while they came out to be at the Instructional level in comprehension. In Silent Reading, the participants were classified under the Frustration level in both fluency and comprehension. Also, it was revealed that there was a significant difference between the oral and silent reading ability level of students when analyzed in terms of their fluency and comprehension. The results led to the conclusion that in oral reading, majority of the students could not read materials on their own as evidenced by their low rate in Fluency. In terms of Comprehension, the students could understand the material but only with some assistance from the teacher. The reading level of the students in oral and silent reading was the same -at the Frustration level. As for Comprehension, they read better aloud (Instructional level) than quietly (Frustration level) since they were helped by their teacher while reading. Results from the said studies served as basis for the suggested enhancement program to improve the oral and silent reading ability of the students.
