An improved semi-empirical friction model for gas-liquid two-phase flow in horizontal and near horizontal pipes

An improved semi-empirical friction model is proposed. • The interfacial turbulent parameters are derived using the mean velocity. • The pressure gradient is validated against experimental data. • The results show that by our modifications: deviation from the experiments diminishes about 3%, and the slip condition on the interface is satisfied.
