The genotoxic effect of actinomycin D on micronuclei of bone marrow cells and serum protein electrophoretic pattern of mice
2012
Journal of Basic and Applied Zoology
The genotoxic effects of actinomycin D (ActD) were assayed in an in vivo test utilizing bone marrow cells and serum protein electrophoresis assay. ActD (0.0005%) was dissolved in 0.9% saline and administered intraperitoneally at a volume of 1 ml solution per 100 g body weight. Five groups of male mice, were intraperitoneally injected with ActD and were sacrificed after 2, 6, 24, 36 and 48 h. The number of the micronucleated cells increased gradually with increasing sampling time from 2 to 36 h.
