Fed. Rep. of Germany C.H. Schürmann, born 1960, received his degree in civil engineering at the Ruhr-University of Bochum, FRG, in 1986. Since then he has been active in research on integrated, microcomputer-based design strategies in structural engineering on microcomputers. His special research field are knowledge-based approaches of design strategies.
