Some Observations on Resource Allocation in Assembly-Like Queueing Networks via Simulation Approach

This paper presents a study on assembly-like queueing models which are used for modeling assembly operations in production lines and other manufacturing systems. Based on computer simulation results, we investigate how to allocate resources such as buffers or higher speed servers to optimize throughputs of the models. We propose several heuristic policies for effective resource allocation. The policies suggest that we should give priority to allocate extra resource to the neighborhood of
