The physics of golf: The convex face of a driver

The impact of the clubhead of a driver with a golf ball is modeled. The effect of the convex clubface of a driver on the flight of the golf ball is considered and the dependence of the optimum curvature of the clubface on the volume, mass, and impact speed of the clubhead is determined.
