Pαgel describes in the third chapter the pathology and histology ofthe allergic phenomena which play so important a part in rheumatic conditions and most infectious diseases. The author is a master of his subjectand speaks from the great experience he has gained by his original research, particularly on the allergic phenomena in pulmonary tuberculosis. Thefollowing chapters are clinical, the principles of general diagnosis, the partwhich allergy plays in internal medicine, in children's diseases, in the morbidconditions of throat, nose and ear, of eyes, in diseases of skin and in surgeryare well described. The book concludes with reviews of the hereditary factorin allergic conditions and of the therapy of allergy, concerning the pharmaco-therapy, the non-specific and specific treatment.
