The dressing consists of sterilized vaselin and a Pew squares of gauze held in place with a T bandage. No tube or other dressing is placed in the rectum. As a rule no pain is experienced; if there is any. one by poderniic, injection of It nig. (1/5 gr. ) morphin given as soon as the paient complains will he all that is required. lu these operations, as in hcmorrhoid operations, burning the skin should be avoided.
