By X--ray mass screening of a total of1,134,532participants during a six year period from April,1980to March,1986,385 were suspected of lung cancer.One hundred and thirty--five cases out of these 385 cases were diagnosed as lung cancer,and 67 cases underwent thoracotomy.To evaluate the efficacy of X--ray mass screening,we studied the histological type,clinical stage,tumor size,location,and the period from screening to resection.
