This paper describes the results of an investigation on the printing mechanism design conditions for the line printer high speed performance. The results obtained are as follows: (1) The lowest permitted print density limits, estimated from the print quality viewpoint, are about 1. 0 and about 0.6 in original and five-ply copy, respectively.
