Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan-731 235 Manuscript received 29 May 1990. revised 8 October 1990, accepted 28 November 1990 In consideration of the biological properties of carbazoles1 and our interest in the pesticidal and larvicidal activities2-4 of carbazoles, we report here the preparation of some new carbazole derivatives with a view to examine their larvicidal activities. We also report the biological activities of these compounds as well as some carbazoles of known structures.
