Myxoid liposarcoma of hypopharynx- A diagnostic and management dilemma

Sarcomas are malignant neoplasms arising from connective tissue. They represent roughly 1% of all cancer cases reported. Overall, only 4-9% of all liposarcomas occur in head and neck region. A small uncommon group of soft tissue tumours are distinguished by their unique and consistant ability to produce an overwhelming abundance of myxoid ground substance along with the proliferating cells that constitute the tumour.
