Synthesis, spectral studies and antimicrobial activity of some imidazo [2,1-b] [1,3,4] thiadiazole derivatives

In the present study, we have reported the synthesis of various Imidazo [2, 1-b] [1, 3, 4] thiadiazole derivatives. These derivatives are of interest because they exhibit a wide range of pharmacological activities. In the reactions we have reacted various substituted benzoic acids with thiosemicarbazide in the presence of Phosphorous Oxychloride to yield the substituted 1, 3, 4-thiadiazole nucleus.
