Novel Surface Coating Materials Based on Castor Oil-Epoxy Resin Reaction Products

Reactions of castor oil (CO) with varying mole ratios of commercial epoxy resin of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A (i.e. DGEBA) were carried out by adding triethyl amine (TEA) as a base catalyst. The resultant products were designated as castor oil-epoxy resin (COERs) products and characterized by physical, chemical and IR spectral study.
