It is more important to evaluate and reduce energy consumption in designing, operating, and improving systems in industry. Therefore production management methods concurrently considering productivity and energy consumption are needed. Moreover, it is required to maintain a high productivity when energy consumption are reduced. The dependence of energy consumption per unit of production throughput on lot size, and the relationship between energy consumption per unit of production throughput and throughput are clearly shown.
