Actinomycosis is a granulomatous infection of the cervicofacial, thoracic, abdominal and cerebral regions. Cervicofacial actinomycosis usually presents as a palpable mass, which is sometimes painfull and may be associated with a draining sinus tract. Periapical actinomycosis is a cervicofacial form of actinomycosis.
