Policy-based provisioning in hybrid photonic networks
Workshops on Mobile and Wireless Networking/High Performance Scientific, Engineering Computing/Network Design and Architecture/Optical Networks Control and Management/Ad Hoc and Sensor Networks/Compile and Run Time Techniques for Parallel Computing ICPP 2004
The aim of this work is to present provisioning strategies for GMPLS-enabled Hybrid Photonic Networks (HPN). Contributing to network flexibility, the paper presents extensions to the management system of these transparent wavelength and switching capable networks that provide the means to leverage their inherent capabilities. The paper first addresses the motivation and utility of HPN. Building on this information, it goes on with the constraints to be applied in provisioning of those networks.
