Focus on exceptional children
One of the positive effects of the learning disabilities movement has been the focus on "diagnostic/prescriptive teaching," a synergistic relationship between the assessment oflearning and treatment procedures. While this relationship is desirable, there is often a gap between the assessment of learning and the delivery of appropriate learning activities. Several explanations can be offered for the distance between psychoeducational assessment and instructional planning. These include:
