Onychocryptosis is one of the most prevalent onicopathies and one of the most common reasons for consultation in podiatric offi ces. The etiopathogenesis of the process is varied and intrinsic and extrinsic factors can be combined as triggers of the disorder. In the initial stages of onyhcocryptosis, conservative treatments are fi rst considered, some are only palliative but as an alternative, a series of nail reeducation techniques are available to treat and prevent onychocryptosis. more » ... a compilation of the most relevant publications on the conservative treatments of onychocryptosis and the percentages of eff ectiveness found on them. For this, a review of the scientifi c literature in the main databases of Health Sciences and biomedical journals of the University of Seville's library was carried out. Based on 47 bibliographical references (from 1963 to 2017), the most signifi cant results have been found on nail reeducation techniques with a higher eff ectiveness rate than the palliative techniques and in particular the techniques of orthonyxia presented a superior eff ectiveness rate.
