Challenges faced by caregivers in old people's homes in Zambia

This paper is an extract from a PhD study on caring for the aged in old people's homes in Zambia and implications for adult education programmes. It discusses the challenges faced by caregivers in old people's homes which are a form of institutional care for the aged. The paper concluded that the combination of the above challenges made caregivers in old people's homes in Zambia operate under difficult and demotivating conditions. It recommended that the challenges needed to be mitigated by the government and other stakeholders so that caregivers could operate better and, ultimately, provide improved services and care to the aged residing in these homes.
