Diaporthe nobilis, a new record on Camellia sinensis in Guizhou Province, China

One Diaporthe strain was isolated from diseased leaves of Camellia sinensis in Guizhou Province. It is characterized by the production of two types conidia (, -conidia). Morphologically the species is very similar to Phomopsis laurella (syn. Diaporthe nobilis) in producing cylindrical or ellipsoidal -conidia with two oil drops. Phylogenetic analysis of combined ITS, β-tubulin and tef1 sequence data shows that these strains are placed in D. eres species complex. Critical examination of the
