In order to accomplish the mediative function of the English language and develop cross-cultural linguistic competence, a special attempt of designing new experimental workbooks was made. "Learn More About the English-Speaking World" and "Multilingual Guide to the English-Speaking World" are the innovative books aimed at the perfection of Russian and foreign technical students' multilingual skills in the situation of the artificial multilingualism. The results of the new method of teaching implementation show that there is an urgent need for foreign language teaching modernization based on globalization, integration and intercultural communication as the main constituents of the global society.
