The article describes the main role models of power distribution in a family, formed as a result of economic domination of men or women. The evolution of the transformation of matriarchy, patriarchy and egalitarianism is revealed, social conditions, causing the changes in the regulatory elements of culture are analyzed: norms, values, stereotypes and traditions that affect the role attitudes to power dominance in a family. It is emphasized that economic equality between spouses at this stage
