This research investigates factors affecting Vietnamese small and medium enterprises' (SMEs) ability to obtain Environmental Standards Certification (ESC). Logit regression was used for cross-sectional data collected from 2,575 Vietnamese SMEs. The results show that factors such as owner/manager characteristics (gender, ethnicity, and education), firm size, management system, labour union and knowledge of environmental law affect firm's ability to achieve ESC.
