The objective of this study is to explore the relationship among financial variables and systematic risk. Eight financial variables are explored as determinants of systematic risk. Results of 93 non-financial firms listed in Karachi Stock Exchange from 2005-2009 show that liquidity, leverage, operating efficiency, dividend payout and market value of equity are inversely associated while profitability, firm size and growth are positively related with systematic risk (beta).
