Asia is the largest populous continent on earth with 30% of the world's land area and 60% of the world's current population as of 2013. It also has the highest growth rate today, and its population almost quadrupled during the 20 th century. Asia has the two most populous countries in its borders: China with an estimated population of 1.36 billion and India with 1.26 billion in 2013.
