The Ottoman period in Cyprus (1571Cyprus ( -1878 has a wealth of archaeological material and relevant documentation, which is only now beginning to be exploited. After giving a brief overview of this data and its historical background, this article explores the relationship between agriculture, settlement and landscape during this period.
