Family plays a prominent role in the youth's educational and professional choices. A plethora of family factors determine professional decision: social-economic position and parent's educational level, culture, mentality, tradition, etc. Twenty years of research in Greek student population reveals an overwhelmingly strong correlation between teenager's professional choices and parent's norms, beliefs and social interpretations.
