Network-on-chip (NoC) can improve the performance, power efficiency, and scalability of multiprocessor systemon-chip (MPSoC). Optical NoCs, which are based on CMOScompatible optical waveguides and microresonators, have significant bandwidth and power advantages over metallic interconnects.
