mesentery hangs vertically, so that there is no obstruction, but in human beings in the erect position the mesentery hangs along the spine and thus could easily compress the duodenum where it crosses it. Statistics on sex and age in gastric ulcer, 1 believe, should be modified. It is commonly considered that gastric ulcer occurs more frequently in women than in men, and particularly of women of the chlorotic type. During the post few years chlorosis has become a rather rare condition.
