Proximal fractures of femur are the most frequently occurring fracture especially the intertrochantric in elderly. The goal of treatment is early restoration of the patient to their preinjury status. Multiple modalities of treatments are available, since the fracture patterns are not uniform and the morphology has significant variations. Using PFN for fracture fixation has less blood loss, improved early mobilization, reduced rate of infection and mal union was noted in among these patients.
