This paper describes extensions of the JIMS system with selected mechanisms of Solaris 10 resources monitoring and management. The proposed extensions together with JIMS functionality create a foundation for the adaptive layer implementation of large distributed computer systems. The proposed solution addresses a heterogeneous self-configuring execution environment typical of Grids system.
