Cognitive Linguistics is an important approach to language and cognition that gives relevant arguments and theses on topics related to these subject matters. On the other hand, the mental models theory is a psychological reasoning theory that also offers interesting experimental results consistent with its general ideas about these very topics. This paper is intended to look for connections between these two frameworks in order to show that, at least in principle, they are not contradictory,
