THE IDEA OF FAMILY, PATRIOTISM AND CITIZENSHIP AT THE LEVEL OF MORAL VALUES IN MODERN POETRY The concept of patriotism and national self-determination, which is attracting more and more attention in modern Azerbaijani poetry, is interesting not only for its socio-political, but also for its moral and ethical aspects. Poetic examples in modern Azerbaijani poetry show that patriotic poetry, based on the process of national self-determination, also contains moral values to one degree or another. There are many changes; in the national self-consciousness, the above-mentioned points of individualism (at the level of the national idea) undergo a transformation: universal human and narrowly national interests collide here; to a large extent, this is also under the influence of the rationalization of consciousness, in particular, what with the Western way of thinking. These are moods of optimism, faith in the future, based on the fortress of moral foundations of the family, attractive political ideals of the state, and universal human values, imprisoned in religious faith, artistic culture, and scientific thinking. These trends are affected by the general socio-political situation, stereotypes of mass consciousness, ideology, and the influence of external general civilizational factors. National moral ideas are formed under the influence of specific events taking place in the world. These ideas are most vividly seen and demonstrated by people of the artistic word. This is especially evident at turning points in history, when the fate of an entire nation is at stake.
