Prefation as an integral element mass celebration Thanksgiving is an important climate for the celebration of the Eucharist. A special way of exposing the concrete saving interventions of God, especially the saving deeds of Christ, is the preface. It is an integral part of the celebration of the Eucharist. The multiplicity of the preface, as many as 267 in the Sacramentary of Verona from the 7th century, as well as 100 in the Missal of Paul VI, testifies to the fact that the Church cares very much to revive the awareness of the great works of God, making present in the celebration of the paschal mystery of the incarnate Son of God. The present shape of the masses' prefaces is rooted in Christian antiquity. The dialogical nature of the preface prayer is also derived from that time.
