A low birth weight baby has a risk into a hypotermy, if we did not overcome it, the baby would be death. The result showed p = 0,001 (α < 0.05) in the mother's knowledge, which means there was the effect of counseling on maternal knowledge about kangaroo care method, p = 0.001 (α < 0.05) in the mother's attitude which means there the effect of counseling on maternal attitudes about kangaroo care method and p=0.001 (α <0.05) on the actions of the mother, which means there was an influence on the actions of counseling mothers about kangaroo care method. Counseling can improve the ability of the mother to be better in kangaroo care method. Counseling kangaroo care method should be established as a component in the standard operating procedures of baby care with low babies weight.
