The present study deals with production of ligninolytic enzymes from an indigenous white rot fungus Schizophyllum commune IBL-06 by using banana stalk as substrate through the process of solid state fermentation. The production process was further improved by optimizing a number of physical parameters such as incubation time, moisture level, pH, temperature, inoculums size and nutritional factors (carbon and nitrogen ratio, mediators and metal ions).
