... exchange development initiatives. However, there is still a lack of a larger and more comprehensive view to information architectures within structures. The research presented here introduces a novel approach to the foundation of a detailed information architecture for the structural information domain based on systems, sub-systems, elements, components, and supporting resources within the AEC industry. This information architecture represented in aggregated hierarchies provides a breakdown of information related to projects from varying perspectives including product, process control, feedback and constraint information which is generated by capturing, analyzing, retrieving, and formulating.
