In the crystal structure, no hydrogen-bonding interactions are observed between [Ni(phen) 3 ] 2+ cations and [Hg 2 I 6 ] 2À anions. There is an O-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bond between the water and N,N-dimethylformamide molecules (Table 2 ).
