A study on work, family life, leisure activities of baby-boom generation

This study aimed to examine work, family life, and leisure activities. To fulfill the research aim, this study did nation-wide survey by sampling about 1,000 babyboomers from July to October 2015. Finally, 814 copies of the questionnaire were used for analysis. First, the study identified heterogeneity of babyboomers by revealing differences in daily lives such as work, family life and leisure activities depending on gender, age, educational level, residential places, and subjective economic

Second, females and those whose educational levels were lower were less employed than males and those whose educational levels were higher, and the jobs of the former groups tend to be selling service jobs or agricultural/simple work jobs. Third, it was found that, among babyboomers, the older the age is, and the higher educational level is, the higher the proportions of nuclear family type are, and the higher support Copyright 2017 HSST 6 7 2 for family members is. Forth, in leasure activities, males tend to prefer sports and hobby/entertainment, while females tend to enjoy rest and social/other activities. And, while babyboomers who live in urban areas enjoy various types of leisure activities, those in rural areas tend to be limited in individual leasure activities like hobby/entertainment.
