Critical Librarianship as an Academic Pursuit

This chapter seeks to better understand why the set of discourses and practices called 'critical librarianship' are not easily reconciled. It explores why it is difficult for librarians and/or LIS scholars as a group to agree on the primary or defining characteristics of critical librarianship. In particular, the chapter examines the strong association of critical librarianship with academia and academic librarianship.
