In the course of developing a sensor for simultaneous humidity and temperature sensing, we have investigated surface-acoustic-wave (SAY) transducers for use as tools in characterizing materials of interest in sens ing applications. In this paper we report a computer controlled test system for characterizing oscillator based sensors and demonstrate the utility of SAY oscil lator measurements for ga1n1ng insight into sorption processes in glassy polymers.
